Book 16 of 2019

Karin Slaughter is a fantastic writer and I’m going to make it a mission of mine to read as many of her books as I can.

I loved this. From Chapter One it all kicked off and I devoured it so quickly. Parts are a bit gruesome but I’ve definitely read worse and it certainly helps to visualise what’s going on. I pictured the entire book as a film in my head.

It wasn’t until I finished the book that I clicked onto it being a series and this is Book 7 for the main character, Will Trent. However, you can definitely read it without knowing what has happened previously.

We get to know a lot about Will Trent and his social life as well as his work life. As you can see below from the synopsis, Will goes undercover and has to hide the whole thing from everyone, including the woman he loves. But as you probably guessed, it all goes wrong and he gets caught up in something he really doesn’t want to be involved in.

The book is mainly set in Macon, Georgia but travels a bit between there and Atlanta, Georgia.

There are so many twists and turns but as I said above, the story pulls you in so you never get confused as to what is going on.

I am giving this book 4.5 out of 5. I really enjoyed it and if you read it, let me know!

Also, can we just appreciate that cover!!!
