Finale is Book three of the Caraval series. My favourite of the three is the second book, Legendary. However, Finale still gets five big stars from me because I absolutely loved the book and the entire series. I’m genuinely gutted it’s all over.

First of all, let’s discuss the AMAZING cover. The attention to detail on this is fabulous. See below for further pictures and the ‘hidden’ cover quote, which I love.

As you can see, I grabbed the signed copy from Waterstones. It just makes it even more special.

The story of Caraval revolves around two sisters, Tella & Scarlett Dragna. Caraval is a game. A game of life, death, magic & mystery. We meet many characters along the way. I felt love and heartbreak throughout. Dante is my favourite character, but Julian (who insists on calling Scarlett, Crimson) is a very close second.

As the quote on the cover states, “All games must come to an end.”

It’s hard to review this without giving away spoilers, but I will try my best…

I LOVED the ending. It was perfect. That’s all I will say on that.

The story of Finale is slightly different to Caraval and the characters have certainly changed and grown.

I tried to read this book slowly so that I could really take it all in, but I rushed through it at lightening speed because it was so good and I just kept wanting more.

Whilst the ending isn’t sad, I still shed a couple of tears purely for the fact that it’s all over. I will be keeping all three books forever and if I ever need to escape to another world, Caraval will always be there for me.

As I mentioned earlier, it is a five star read for me and these books & characters will stay with me forever… especially Dante. Read Legendary to find out why I fell in love with Dante. He’s just delicious. Haha.

In conclusion, regardless of your age (it is aimed at YA) give these books a read. You won’t regret it.
