What Goes Around is a very quick read but it draws you in straight away and that makes it very easy to lose yourself for a couple of hours and read the whole thing… and that’s exactly what I did.
As you can see from reading the blurb, Alice is angry, bitter and wants revenge. Voodoo is the perfect revenge for her and she embraces it. But of course, Bob has a trick up his sleeve too.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Despite the topic, it was quite lighthearted and I did chuckle at times. The ending (without giving anything away) is quite dark, but at the same time you find yourself agreeing with it in a way.
The place itself, Nanm Paradi, sounds incredible. I didn’t want to leave that place in my own mind. Waiters who know what you want before you even do?! Yes please!
I think this is a perfect summertime read and would be a great read on holiday lounging round the pool. I personally read it whilst lounging on my sofa, but hey, the writing is good enough that you feel like you’re right there watching the whole thing.
I don’t normally like to read books on my Kindle but I really enjoyed reading this and it didn’t bother me at all.
I also really enjoyed the fact that the occupants of Nanm Paradi were given the proper tone. The author wrote their speech in such a way that you could hear their accent and feel soothed by their voices. See below for a note from the author who explains this much better…
It definitely made me wonder how I would react in the same situation. Would I have done the same as Alice? The same as Bob? Or something totally different!
All in all, I definitely recommend that you give this book a go. It’s very entertaining and if nothing else, it will make you feel like you’re in Paradise for a short time.
Give it a read and let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy it too.
This book was gifted to me on Kindle from Damp Pebbles in exchange for an honest review on the blog tour.
