Set in the summer of 1962, the story follows PI Jim Keegan and how he accidentally becomes prime suspect in a murder he didn’t commit.
I really enjoyed this book, and as a character I also really liked Jim Keegan. I really felt for him and wanted him to succeed. He has recently lost his mother so suddenly finds himself caring for her dog and looking after her house, whilst still trying to work full time in the City.
At only 222 pages it is a fairly quick read, but storyline starts straight away and gets right to the point. It pulls you in and really makes you feel like you’re watching the book play out in your mind.
Eve is also a very likeable character. She’s one of those characters that you want to love, but then think ‘can she be trusted’ and before long you’re back to loving her again and wanting her to be one of the good guys.
The storyline is very easy to follow and not one easily forgotten.
