From the same Author as ‘Gone’ comes the second book in the Detective Bloom Series: ‘Lost’
HOW CAN YOU SOLVE A CRIME IF YOU CAN’T REMEMBER THE CLUES?
In the second compelling thriller from Leona Deakin, Dr Bloom returns to solve another mystery.
But how can she solve the crime when the victim can’t remember anything?
There is an explosion at a military ball. The casualties are rushed to hospital in eight ambulances, but only seven vehicles arrive. Captain Harry Peterson is missing.
His girlfriend calls upon her old friend Dr Augusta Bloom, who rushes to support the investigation. But no one can work out what connects the bomb and the disappearance. When Harry is eventually discovered three days later, they hope he holds the answers to their questions.
But he can’t remember a single thing.
I absolutely LOVED Gone, so I jumped at the chance to do a review for Lost, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Bits of Gone were mentioned in the second book so you can read it as a standalone but it would be better if you read them in order.
Dr Bloom returns to solve another mystery, only this time, there are absolutely no clues. Captain Harry Peterson goes missing but when he returns three days later, he does not remember a single thing.
It starts with an explosion, so it literally starts with a bang, and the mystery grows from there.
I highly recommend both books. I love this author and I will happily read and recommend anything she writes
Dr Bloom is definitely a character I want to keep up with. I also really like her sidekick Marcus. There is definitely more to come from these two so I’m absolutely hoping book three isn’t too far away.
I have Gone 5 stars, and Lost got 4.5 stars.
The tension is fantastic, you don’t see the twists coming, & the storyline in general is very well thought out and well written.
